Though the world may be teetering on the edge of oblivion, Milla Jovovich proves there’s still time for a good ol’ selfie – or five – in the latest batch of behind-the-scene photos for Resident Evil: The Final Chapter.
These images arrive on the heels of last week’s still showcasing both Jovovich and Ali Larter’s Claire Redfield, with the latter returning to the fray for the first time since the cataclysmic events in Resident Evil: Afterlife. Reprising her defining role as genetically modified badass Alice, The Final Chapter will do good on its evocative moniker in the sense that Paul W. S. Anderson’s latest outing at the helm will bring the curtain down on Screen Gems’ franchise.
Picking up directly after the fallout of 2012’s Retribution, Anderson’s ultimate adventure takes the flesh-munching action back to the original scene of the crime: Racoon City. Clutching at straws, Jovovich’s Alice is left with no choice but to partner up with some unlikely allies as she looks to bring down the nefarious Umbrella Corporation once and for all – along with the T-Virus that dragged the world into ruination.
Resident Evil: The Final Chapter will bring an end to Screen Gems’ lucrative undead juggernaut when Paul W. S. Anderson’s ultimate chapter arrives in theaters on January 27, 2017.
Picking up immediately after the events in Resident Evil: Retribution, humanity is on its last legs after Alice is betrayed by Wesker in Washington D.C. As the only survivor of what was meant to be humanity’s final stand against the undead hordes, Alice must return to where the nightmare began – Raccoon City, where the Umbrella Corporation is gathering its forces for a final strike against the only remaining survivors of the apocalypse. In a race against time Alice will join forces with old friends, and an unlikely ally, in an action packed battle with undead hordes and new mutant monsters. Between losing her superhuman abilities and Umbrella’s impending attack, this will be Alice’s most difficult adventure as she fights to save humanity, which is on the brink of oblivion.
