Microsoft and developer Turn 10 have rolled out optional microtransactions for Xbox One racing facsimile Forza Motorsport 6. Introduced via an in-game Token system, the new feature allows players to purchase additional cars, modifications and other extras without having to progress through the ranks, though the studio was quick to note that the in-game purchases are entirely optional.
Taking to its official blog, Turn 10 provided a play-by-play breakdown of the new-fangled microtransactions, revealing that users will be able to hide the Token system from within the game’s user interface should they not want to see the option at all. “Players who do not wish to see the token feature in Forza Motorsport 6 menus will have the option to disable this feature from appearing by turning Tokens off in the HUD Options menu.”
[zerggaming]In terms of how Forza 6‘s Token system translates to real-world money, here’s a rundown of the different SKUs available when acquiring some of the in-game currency.
100 Tokens — $1
325 Tokens — $3
575 Tokens — $5
1250 Tokens — $10
2700 Tokens — $20
8000 Tokens — $50
20,000 Tokens — $100
It’s official: Forza Motorsport 6 will incorporate microtransactions from here on out. But how do you feel about their integration, and is the Token system something you’d be interested in dabbling with?
