Media Molecule Celebrates Its 10th Anniversary By Teasing Some “Exciting Announcements” For 2016

The developer behind the LittleBigPlanet series and the upcoming Dreams, Media Molecule, has celebrated its 10th anniversary today, promising to kick off its second decade with some "pretty exciting announcements" to be made in the coming year.

The developer behind the LittleBigPlanet series and the upcoming Dreams, Media Molecule, has celebrated its 10th anniversary today, promising to kick off its second decade with some “pretty exciting announcements” to be made in the coming year.

Media Molecule is a company that has defined itself through games that let the player’s creativity and imagination take charge, beginning with the first LittleBigPlanet in 2008, which allowed players to build their own puzzle-platforming levels and share them with other players.

The create and share gameplay will be further explored in Dreams, currently in development at the studio with a beta expected to arrive this year. Within 2016, fans can expect to hear more about Dreams as well the possibility of some new titles as part of the announcements.

In a post on the PlayStation Blog, the studio’s community manager Jenny Lawrence hinted at how the team will be commemorating this “very special milestone.”

We’ve got some pretty exciting announcements and events happening over the course of the next 12 months, not to mention all the fun we’ll be having with Dreams too. It’s going to be a jam-packed year so make sure you join us for the ride!

Media Molecule has also released an interactive timeline on its website, dubbed the “Marvellous Media Molecule Time Machine,” which allows fans to explore the company’s growth over the last ten years in detail, complete with behind-the-scenes photos and videos.
