Ookay Turns Duke Dumont’s “Need You (100%)” Inside-Out In Future Bass Remix

Aside from the word "future," the future house and future bass genres don't have a great deal in common - but that doesn't mean that they can't overlap from time to time. Ookay appears to have recognized this, as his remix of Duke Dumont's "Need You (100%)" bridges the stylistic divide between both while still managing to bring something new to the table.

While featuring unmistakeable hallmarks of future bass like half-time drops with effervescent synth melodies, Ookay’s remix also showcases sound design elements that almost hint at 8-bit complextro influences. The modulated bass lines of the original are nowhere to be found as the only recognizable element is the top line – but it works well enough on its own merits that that’s hardly a strike against it.
