The winter update for Guild Wars 2 is now live, and it’s brought with it the kind of substantial changes you’d usually expect to pay expansion pack rates for. Most notably, the update allows players to take their gliding outside of the Maguuma Jungle and the feature is now available in the larger part of the world.
Along with the growth of this mechanic, it’s been confirmed that the Shatterer fight in Blazeridge Steppes has been revamped to account for aerial assaults, and now comes with new tactics and minions to keep the content feeling fresh. It’s impressive to hear that this update isn’t just looking forward, but it’s also helping to improve the retrospective experience in Guild Wars 2 as well.
In less substantial news, the Eldvin Monastery Brew of the Month Club in Queensdale is now offering a new artisanal, micro-brewed craft ale each month. If you sample all 12 you’ll apparently be rewarded with a title, backpack and guild decoration. Also ongoing is the Lunar New Year, running until February 9. From the Crown Pavilion you can check out the Dragon Ball PvP mini-game.
This winter update is available for Guild Wars 2 players right now, and you can check out some of the new features in the trailer at the top of this page.
