Later this year, we’ll see Joel Kinnaman whip Task Force X into shape in David Ayer’s Suicide Squad, though it appears the actor will be walking Washington D.C.’s corridors of power for House of Cards season 4 next month.

Word comes by way of Netflix’s official Twitter account, revealing a first-look photo of Kinnaman suited and booted opposite Kevin Spacey, who reprises his role as the devious, power-mongering Frank Underwood. Details are scarce as to who Kinnaman will be playing in the Netflix original series, or just how extensive his role is set to be, but we’ll surely learn more as the show gears up for its anticipated return.

Yes, the Underwood 2016 campaign is beginning to reach its crescendo – aligning nicely with the currently ongoing presidential campaigns in the States – and all signs point to a defining season in Frank Underwood’s arc. Last we seen, Washington D.C.’s power couple found their relationship lying in tatters, with Robin Wright’s walking out on her husband and, seemingly, her responsibilities as First Lady. Will they find a means of salvaging their marriage in House of Cards season 4? Time will tell.

One thing’s for sure: Frank Underwood’s time in the White House will continue in some shape or form, now that House of Cards has been renewed for season 5. It’s a journey into uncharted territory the show will make without showrunner and series creator Beau Willimon, who opted not to renew his contract in tandem with the renewal. Willimon did, however, assure fans that he plans “leave it in the hands of a very capable team.”

Netflix’s political thriller returns on March 4.
