Captain America: Civil War may be stealing the headlines today – and it’s little wonder why – but there’s another superhero divide that’s set to occupy theaters in a few months’ time.
For in Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Apocalypse, spurred by the awakening of Oscar Isaac’s title supervillain, 20th Century Fox’s mutants will find themselves at loggerheads with one another.
[zerg]And so, after spotlighting the Four Horsemen of Singer’s blockbuster threequel – namely Michael Fassbender’s Magneto, Alexandra Shipp’s Storm, Ben Hardy as Angel and Olivia Munn’s Psylocke – the latest poster coming out of Fox doubles down on the core heroes attempting to defend a mutant legacy.
Presiding over that tight-knit crew of newcomers (Sophie Turner’s Jean Grey) and series stalwarts (Jennifer Lawrence’s Mystique) is Professor X, played in this timeline by James McAvoy. But will they stand a chance against Apocalypse and his Four Horsemen?
