Microsoft and The Coalition have rolled out plans for the upcoming multiplayer beta for Gears of War 4.
Due to get underway on April 18 for those who purchased the Gears of War Ultimate Edition – you have until April 11 to qualify for the online testing session – the stress test will then expand into an open beta on April 25, inviting “all qualifying Xbox Live Gold members on Xbox One to join the beta until it ends on May 1.”
Prior to today’s announcement, Microsoft’s original cut-off point for those early access beta tokens stood at March 1. But by extending the window of time for would-be participants, users will have the chance to play the Ultimate Edition on either Xbox One or Windows 10 by 11 p.m. PDT, April 11.
From there, the early access beta tokens will be distributed by Microsoft, though exactly how the publisher plans to do so – and at what time – is still up for question. That’ll remain live from April 18 up until April 24, when the focus turns to the open beta on April 25. The question now is, will you be partaking in the preliminary stress test for Gears of War 4?
Gears of War 4 is due to deploy for Xbox One – and possibly PC, too – later in the year. Stay tuned for further information regarding specific start times in the weeks to come.
