Even considering the film’s riotous marketing campaign prior to release, few could have predicted Deadpool‘s barnstorming success, with Tim Miller’s anti-hero flick recently cementing its place as the highest-grossing R-rated movie in history following an eye-watering haul of $745 million.
That’s quite the feat for Ryan Reynolds’ gun-toting Merc With a Mouth, and we now have word of when the film will receive a second boon in sales via a release on home video. According to Reynolds himself, Deadpool is poised to smash onto Blu-ray, 4K Ultra-HD Blu-ray and DVD – and definitely not VHS or LaserDisc – on May 10.
Per Twitter:
I’m coming… on Blu-ray MAY 10.

Comfortably sailing past all expectations both internally and with audiences, conversations are now underway at 20th Century Fox regarding the future of Deadpool.
We know that a sequel is locked, possibly featuring Stephen Lang in the role of Cable, while Reynolds himself has placed his crosshairs on jump-starting an ensemble X-Force movie in the not-so-distant future. Should those early plans fall into place, it’ll also sport an R-rating of its own, and that’s a trend that has even seeped into James Mangold’s long-anticipated Wolverine 3.
Look for the Merc With a Mouth to slink onto home video when Deadpool hits Blu-ray on May 10.
