It’ll be time to get your build on very soon in Fallout 4: the second batch of DLC for Bethesda’s hugely-successful RPG hits Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on April 12, the studio has announced.
Judging by the announcement trailer posted Bethesda’s YouTube page (check it out above), Wasteland Workshop looks set to be the ultimate slice of add-on content for those Fallout 4 players that love to spend the majority of their play time building bases, capturing mutated animals and pitting them against humans and other animals alike in fights to the death. Okay, so that description makes the DLC sound like one that caters to a very specific group of people, but that’s just one of the new features.
A vastly expanded range of new building and design options will be made available, allowing players to further customize and personalize their settlements. Besides new base building materials, new light fixtures and decorations – including being able to indulge in a spot of taxidermy – are all par for the course.
Bethesda’s own description of the update is as follows:
Fallout 4’s second add-on, Wasteland Workshop, will be available worldwide on Tuesday, April 12, on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. With Wasteland Workshop, you can design and set cages to capture live creatures – from raiders to Deathclaws. Tame them or have them face off in battle, even against your fellow settlers. The Wasteland Workshop also includes a suite of new design options for your settlements like nixie tube lighting, letter kits, taxidermy and more.
Wasteland Workshop is the second DLC add-on to hit Fallout 4, following last month’s Automatron DLC which turned out to be rather good. The third and most anticipated content add-on – Far Harbour – is pegged to release in May, and will be a full-blown expansion that takes the player beyond the Commonwealth to Maine, adding an entirely new stretch of landmass which, Bethesda says, is “the largest landmass Bethesda Game Studios has ever created for post-release content.”
If that doesn’t get you excited, nothing will.
