Ahead of its Xbox One launch, Game Swing’s Stikbold! A Dodgeball Adventure has made its way onto Sony’s PlayStation 4. In doing so, it’s sparked the need for a new launch trailer, which combines real-life rivals with colourfully narrated gameplay.
Stikbold! A Dodgeball Adventure is a really unique and interesting title, which we recently gave a positive review to. It’s the perfect type of game to pick up if you plan to have some friends over for a few drinks and some couch-based multiplayer, and is also quite fun as a solo outing, thanks to a rather creative campaign.
Stikbold! tells the story of Bjorn and Jerome who set out on a heroic mission in the name of love and glory. When a rival team is kidnapped by a man dressed as the devil, our dodgeball-loving superstars begin a journey that pays homage to the best buddy movies of old. The story mode can be enjoyed in single or co-op mode, and details Bjorn and Jerome’s quest to restore glory to their team, encountering all manner of weird and wonderful characters and scenarios along the way. Spread across five levels, each with multiple dodgeball battles, Stikbold! is a beautifully-paced adventure lasting around three hours, with multiple playthroughs offering plenty of bonus unlockables.
Stikbold! A Dodgeball Adventure is available at a fair asking price of $9.99/€9.99/£7.99, with a 20% discount applying to purchases made within two weeks of its launch. And, while PlayStation 4 owners are lucky to be able to play it today, Xbox One users won’t have long to wait, as the game will be released onto Microsoft’s platform this Friday.
