Set for a grand reveal tomorrow, May 6, DICE has unveiled the first blink-and-you’ll-miss-it teaser for Battlefield 5. And we do mean teaser.

At a precious 10 seconds in length, the snippet showcases a close-up of a soldier’s face – pulled from “game engine footage,” apparently – followed by the franchise’s by-now iconic sound mix. It’s impossible to tell whether DICE is on the verge of unveiling a shooter rooted in World War II based on today’s teaser alone, but it won’t be too long before official details are out in the open.

Promising the “first look at the future of Battlefield,” tomorrow’s reveal event will begin at 4pm ET, followed by a presentation of the 2016 sequel. According to DICE, it’s a showcase that will offer “insight into the minds of the developers as you hear from the Creative Director Lars Gustavsson and Lead Producer Aleksander Grondal on the past, present and the future of Battlefield. You will be able to join in the conversation as we open the floor to questions from viewers.”

Nipping at the heels of Infinity Ward’s unveiling of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, it’ll be fascinating to see how BF5 stands against its chief competitor – particularly if DICE do fire the shooter tentpole back to WWII, as Infinite Warfare explores a far-flung future.

Expect neon blue lights and orange sparks aplenty when DICE and EA officially bring down the curtain on Battlefield 5 tomorrow, May 6. We’ll have full coverage of the reveal for you here on We Got This Covered, so stay tuned.
