With all the recent speculation about the EDM bubble bursting, it’s reassuring to see that electronic music still thrives in other parts of the world. Djakarta Warehouse Project showed us that they meant business back when the Indonesian festival’s organizers dropped its 2015 lineup, and now the official aftermovie confirms it to have been a massive for the ages.
Unlike how most festival aftermovies simply focus on the festival experience itself, the video for Djakarta Warehouse Project 2015 kicks off with skilled dancers performing routines in an urban setting. After that, it dives straight into crowd, aerial and stage shots, featuring appearances from the likes of Tiësto, Axwell /\ Ingrosso and Porter Robinson.
However, for all the hype surrounding the 2015 edition’s newly added underground stage, the videographers could have devoted more camera time to it. That’s not to say that the 3D-projected Garuda wings framing the main stage weren’t a spectacle in and of themselves – but obscure is very in right now, and the video could have captured that side of the event better.
Nonetheless, the 2015 aftermovie for Djakarta Warehouse Project proves the event a worthy contender in the international electronic music festival arena. If it piques your interest, look out for announcements for other events from Indonesian promoter Ismaya Live in the coming months.
