Watch as F. Gary Gray gets the gang back together for another globetrotting adventure riddled with explosions and death-defying stunts in today’s all-new set video for 2017 sequel, Fast 8.
Heralding the first day that the Universal tentpole has welcomed all leading members of the Toretto crew back for the one scene, the clip above includes fleeting glimpses of Kurt Russell’s Mr. Nobody, along with Gray himself orchestrating the segment that sees Dom and the gang hatch a plan that is surely tailored around – or in spite of – Charlize Theron’s franchise newcomer, Cipher.
On board to play Fast 8‘s no-nonsense baddie – flanked by Suicide Squad star Scott Eastwood and Kristofer Hivju – the specifics of Cipher and indeed the sequel’s arc in general are being locked away behind-closed-doors; stowed away in a cell not unlike the one that Jason Statham found himself in just as the credits rolled on Furious 7.
[zergpaid]Speaking of which, the Stath is set to reprise the role of Deckard Shaw in 2017, sparking rumors that his villain could be in cahoots with Theron’s Ciper. Whether that’s the case remains to be seen, but for now, we know the principal cast is rounded out by Vin Diesel as Dominic Toretto, Michelle Rodriguez as Letty, Lucas Black as Sean, Tyrese Gibson as Roman, Ludacris as Tej and Dwayne Johnson as Hobbs
As things stand, F. Gary Gray’s long-anticipated Fast 8 opens on April 14, 2017. It’ll be followed by Fast & Furious 9 and Fast & Furious 10 across April 19, 2019 and April 2, 2021, respectively
Remaining under Universal’s umbrella, there’s also been renewed interest in firing up production on a Luke Hobbs spinoff, toplined by the seemingly omnipresent Dwayne Johnson.
