Currently lensing in Cleveland, Ohio, it’s been quite the globe-trotting journey for Fast 8.

From the sun-scorched streets of Cuba to Arkanes, a remote town on the coast of Iceland, F. Gary Gray (Straight Outta Compton) has ensured the franchise’s rip-roaring sense of adventure remains intact for his maiden entry in Universal’s series.

He’s been documenting Fast 8‘s travels, too, using Instagram to establish something of an open dialog between the fanbase and the team guiding the sequel to its April 2017 release date. The latest media dump focus on the movie’s base of operations in Iceland, which also heralded the construction of the largest blue screen in Fast and Furious history.

Among those returning to the fray for Fast 8 are Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson and Charlize Theron as franchise newcomer and badass villain, Cipher. They’ll be joined by Michelle Rodriguez, Lucas Black – returning to the franchise for the first time since Tokyo Drift – Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Scott Eastwood, Kristofer Hivju, Nathalie Emmanuel and Kurt Russell as the mysterious Mr. Nobody.

F. Gary Gray’s actioner is due to arrive on April 14, 2017. Nipping at the heels of the director’s maiden entry in the franchise are Fast & Furious 9 and Fast & Furious 10, which have been slated for April 19, 2019 and April 2, 2021, respectively.
