Electronic music tastemakers have gone to extravagant lengths to make their promotional videos stand out in 2016, but ODESZA‘s latest speaks for itself. The Seattle-based livetronica duo’s career has largely been characterized by a more or less organic rise to fame, and the video of their first-ever performance at Red Rocks Amphitheatre outside Denver, Colorado is a prime example of that.
To make their June 18th Red Rocks debut as much of a spectacle as possible, ODESZA was accompanied by the CU Drumline as well as the Colorado Symphony for much of their set. After a montage of serene wilderness shots, the video transitions into footage from the evening – all of which is dubbed over with commentary from the duo.
Red Rocks has garnered worldwide renown for being perhaps the most acoustically natural amphitheater known to man. Considering the Colorado music scene’s penchant for bass music, the occasion surely made for a memorable outing.
ODESZA have been relatively quiet on the release front, but it’s unlikely that they would go the entire 2016 festival season without a major series of releases. Until they drop something new though, watch the recap video from their performance at Red Rocks Amphitheatre above and comment below to tell us what you think.
