Now firmly past the halfway point in production, Universal’s onslaught of set videos for Fast 8 is beginning to reach its crescendo.

Yes, the tire tracks are still fresh from yesterday’s Fast Friday snippet, where F. Gary Gray (Straight Outta Compton) and series stalwart Vin Diesel reflected on the filming process and action sequences hitherto. Nipping at the heels of that BTS video is a post from Dwayne Johnson, who looks set to stage the prison riot to end all prison riots.

A shot of Johnson’s Luke Hobbs behind bars was released a few weeks back, indicating that our big friendly giant could find himself in a spot of bother by the time the 2017 sequel checks in. One thing’s for sure: The Iceman cometh, and he don’t fuck around.

I know you guys can see it… I have so much damn FUN playin’ the character of HOBBS. A man who lives by a code of ethics, but who will also rip your throat out and give it back to you just so you can apologize for pissin’ him off. For years our #FastAndFurious writer Chris Morgan, our @sevenbucksprod’s producer Hiram Garcia and myself would always talk about how insanely FUN FOR THE FANS a “Hobbs prison breakout” scene would be – wrecking every fool that’s in his way. Well that day has come, which is why I’m completely iced in my veins and amped out of my f*cking mind in this vid and clearly in need of a horse tranquilizer. Let Toretto and his friends preach family and love… Not HOBBS. The Iceman cometh. And he don’t fucketh around. #OnSet #Fast8 #Iceman

That’s quite the assembly of inmates to plow through, but Hobbs looks up for the task. Tethered alongside the post was a caption from The Rock himself, teeing up the Hobbs prison breakout.
