Treyarch’s latest DLC package, Annihilation, has launched today exclusively for Xbox 360 owners. The unimaginatively named toy box of virtual content contains 5 brand new multiplayer maps, 1 of which is an entirely new zombie level. Many people argue that the zombie maps are the real selling point for most of Treyarch’s DLC, so I guess it’s just tough luck for us zombie slayers that Activision are determined to sell them to us one at a time.
The competitive multiplayer maps are called Hangar 18, Drive-In, Silo and Hazard. The ever so special zombie playground mysteriously and intriguingly named Shangri-La, which does sound a lot like a very famous Unreal Tournament map.
Cynicism aside (don’t pretend it isn’t there), I’ve no doubt that this child sized nugget of extra content will keep thousands of players sufficiently hooked to Activision’s current torch bearer and you can’t really blame them for it.
Annihilation is available on Xbox Live for 1200 MS Points, as always there is no word when the other two thirds of the Call Of Duty audience will be graced with a release date for the maps.
Is that rude or is it just me?
