If Peyton Reed’s Ant-Man toyed with the idea of exploring the Quantum Realm in 2015, Doctor Strange is all but set to steer the Marvel Cinematic Universe directly into another dimension when Scott Derrickson’s mystical standalone film hits theaters in only two months’ time.
That means Marvel’s marketing machine is beginning to fire on all cylinders, and earlier this week we brought you a new peek at Benedict Cumberbatch’s bruised Sorcerer Supreme deep in thought. Likely pulled from early on in the film, it did feature Cumberbatch suited and booted as the good doctor, who was surely still coming to terms with these newfound abilities.
[zergpaid]When it comes to this stylish new one-sheet, though, Cumberbatch is closer to the finished article. Equipped with his trusty Eye of Agamotto, this is a tantalizing look at Marvel’s Sorcerer Supreme in action, as he struts directly through the middle of collapsing cities – London, New York and what looks to be the Himalayas all feature. Inception, eat your heart out. But will the story match the spectacle? We’ll find out very soon indeed.
Doctor Strange, also starring Rachel McAdams, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Amy Landecker, Scott Adkins, Michael Stuhlbarg, Benedict Wong, Tilda Swinton and Mads Mikklesen, will conjure up Benedict Cumberbatch’s Sorcerer Supreme on November 4.
Doctor Strange follows the story of the talented neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a tragic car accident, must put ego aside and learn the secrets of a hidden world of mysticism and alternate dimensions. Based in New York City’s Greenwich Village, Doctor Strange must act as an intermediary between the real world and what lies beyond, utilizing a vast array of metaphysical abilities and artifacts to protect the Marvel cinematic universe.
