Justice may be blind, but tomorrow it becomes unbreakable. On the eve of the show’s premiere, Marvel and Netflix have pulled back the curtain on the suitably stylish opening credits for Luke Cage, the third of four superhero standalone series that will culminate with the advent of The Defenders.

Speaking of which, as revealed by TheWrap, it seems Simone Missick – on board to play Misty Knight opposite Mike Colter’s hulking Power Man – will have a small role in Marvel’s 2017 ensemble series. Said she: “I believe I’m safe to say that I will be on ‘The Defenders. Spoiler alert! If I lose my job because of this interview, sorry! I was supposed to be on ‘The Defenders,’ until I got fired.”

She isn’t the only one to be linked; both Foggy Nelson and Jon Bernthal’s The Punisher all but locked for the small-screen team-up show in some capacity. With Luke Cage teetering on the edge of release, though, we’ll put a pin on that one for now. Building on featurettes showcasing how music and hip-hop culture will be coursing through the veins of Cheo Hodari Coker’s origin story from tomorrow onwards, these opening credits serve as a brilliantly stylish introduction to Coker’s version of Harlem, neatly teeing up Cage’s journey and the gritty urban setting that surrounds him.

Luke Cage will muscle his way onto Netflix tomorrow, September 30. If you’re hoping to cram in some last-minute homework, look no further than our comprehensive overview of Marvel’s oncoming Hero for Hire.
