Ever since Vin Diesel confirmed what we’d suspected all along, that the Guardians of the Galaxy would be fighting alongside Iron Man, Captain America, The Hulk etc. in Avengers: Infinity War, speculation as to how large a role they’ll actually play has run rampant. After all, the film is set to feature a ton of MCU characters (perhaps even a few of The Defenders as well) and many were left wondering if there’d even be much room left for Star-Lord and co.
While we still can’t tell you exactly how heavily they’ll factor into things, we do know that Chris Pratt, who plays Star-Lord, will have a sizeable role. That’s according to the folks at Schmoes Know, who claim that a source has told them that the hero will be the “catalyst that will eventually lead to the introduction of the other Guardian members.” They also mention that he’ll be a “major player” when it comes to defeating Thanos.
[zergpaid]It doesn’t come as too much of a surprise that Marvel would want to give Star-Lord a large role here, but with all of the Avengers already set to feature heavily, and Doctor Strange booking an appearance in the film as well, you’ve got to wonder if it’s all going to be a bit much. It sounds epic on paper, sure, and is no doubt a fanboy’s dream come true, but will there really be room for all of these larger than life characters? Time will ultimately tell, but you can bet that we’ll be eagerly waiting to see how Marvel handles all of this.
