When it was first revealed that Ghost Rider was coming to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the response was mixed. Most fans were annoyed that the character was being “wasted” on a show which has been struggling in terms of ratings for some time now, but it turns out that the Spirit of Vengeance may be exactly what the series needed.
While he may not be the Johnny Blaze or Danny Ketch version many fans were hoping to see, it seems that Robbie Reyes is pretty interesting after all, and Ghost Rider has so far been an exciting presence in the ABC series. However, the show has barely touched on his supernatural origins, but thankfully, that now looks set to change.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will delve into the character’s origin story in the upcoming sixth episode, titled “The Good Samaritan.” For more on what to expect, check out the synopsis below:
The shocking origin story of Robbie’s transition into Ghost Rider is revealed as the lives of Coulson and the team hang in the balance.
That doesn’t exactly shed a lot of light on what we’ll be seeing, but it’s going to be extremely interesting to find out whether or not Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. follows the comic books or adds something new to Robbie’s background. Producers have definitively stated that Ghost Rider won’t be an Inhuman, so we do at least know that they’re not changing things up too much.
Throw in the fact that there’s been talk of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. loosely tying into Doctor Strange, and chances are that the show is definitely about to delve into some magical places.
