Fallout Shelter players can look forward to enjoying their own brand of holiday-themed content today, as Bethesda has just rolled out a new patch full to the brim with Christmas trees and baubles. They may be living in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, but that hasn’t stopped your Vault dwellers from decking the halls with decorations and donning elf costumes in celebration of the year-end festivities.
Coming by way of Twitter (via GameSpot), Bethesda says “new decorations, outfits & quests” are what await you upon booting-up the game, although it’s not currently clear what sorts of activities said quests entail.

Surprise released back in 2014 as part of Bethesda’s presence at E3, Fallout Shelter turned out to be a sleeper hit for the developer, no doubt helped, in part, by the hype generated from Fallout 4‘s unveiling at the same presentation.
Despite its success, Bethesda’s Todd Howard said the mobile title’s existence was never about “making money” but rather, to raise brand awareness for the Fallout franchise. Considering the seven year gap between Fallout 3 and 4, Shelter‘s creation ultimately appears to have been a wise business decision. Bethesda will likely provide more details in regards today’s patch in the near future, and we’ll be sure to keep you posted.
