Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom, Level-5’s gorgeous RPG sequel, will launch for both PS4 and PC in 2017.
News of a PC version was made official earlier this morning, though publisher Bandai Namco refrained from divulging the game’s release date. When asked about the decision to bring Ni No Kuni II to PC platforms, Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino revealed to GameSpot that “having a PC version means the game is more accessible for everyone overseas.”
Following the landmark success of Wrath of the White Witch four years ago, Level-5 has doubled down on its commitment to expand the Ni No Kuni brand across international markets. Plans are in place for Revenant Kingdom to launch simultaneously for Japanese and western audiences later this year, with Hino-san going on to reveal that, “from a localization point of view we’re really making it as straightforward as possible for players of all cultures to understand.”
For those not up to speed, Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom ditches Oliver and the gang to focus on Evan, the boy king of Ding Dong Dell who sets off on an journey to restore peace to the realm.
Supporting Evan on his adventure are friends Roland, Tani, and beings known as Higgledies who come from the power of the hearts found within people, animals, and elements such as fire and wind. Only individuals with pure hearts can see the Higgledies. The Higgledies will aid Evan throughout his journey, helping him in battles, and letting him reach places he wouldn’t otherwise be able to access. Join Evan on his quest as he fights powerful monsters, face perilous dungeons, and rises to once again become a King!
Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom will plot course for both PS4 and PC sometime in 2017.
