Empire has plundered the depths of the Amazon rainforest to uncover a striking new poster for The Lost City of Z, James Gray’s long-anticipated adventure film. It arrives hand-in-hand with the latest U.S. trailer, which you can feast your eyes on up above.
Leading the wild goose chase is Pacific Rim‘s Charlie Hunnam, who takes point as Lieutenant Colonel Percy Fawcett, a wide-eyed, British-born explorer who plots course for South America circa 1925 to uncover the greatest treasure of all: a fabled city known simply as ‘Z’. Dismissed as a lunatic at the time, Fawcett threw caution to the wind, recruited a motley crew of equally daring explorers, and decided to circle back to the mythical city to prove his doubters wrong. He was never seen or heard of again.
Adapted from David Grann’s novel of the same name, The Lost City of Z also stars Edward Ashley as Arthur Manley, a budding young corporal who accompanies Fawcett on his suicidal mission. Ditto for Robert Pattinson and Spider-Man: Homecoming‘s Tom Holland, who are on board to play Henry Costin and Fawcett’s son Jack, respectively. Rounding out the starry ensemble are Angus Macfadyen and Sienna Miller as Fawcett’s supportive spouse, Nina.
Charlie Hunnam will, at long last, make tracks for The Lost City of Z when Gray’s sweeping adventure premieres in British cinemas on March 24th. From there, it’ll then journey across the pond in time for its U.S. release on April 21st, with select locations in New York and LA screening the movie from April 14th.
