We recently learned that Fox had added a few extra minutes to Logan‘s runtime, a strong indication that a post-credits scene would feature in the movie’s theatrical release. That was then followed by a report confirming the speculation, but things just took a very interesting turn.
Firstly, Logan director James Mangold confirmed on Twitter that the movie would not have a post-credits scene, and just hours later, Collider updated their initial report. Confirming that additional sources had told them that the highly anticipated release won’t be getting any sort of stinger, the site adds a very interesting tidbit which might just help to soften the impact of this disappointing news.
“After doing some digging I’ve learned I wasn’t altogether wrong about Logan having something cool for the fans. But instead of it being after the credits, maybe it’s before the movie has started.”
So, what could that be then? It’s a guessing game at this point, with everything from a montage celebrating Jackman’s time as Wolverine to some sort of Deadpool-related promo which might finally bring the two iconic heroes together being rumored.
We’ll just have to wait and see, but with Logan set to be released on March 1st, we may not have long until we find out. We also don’t know if this footage will released online, but given issues with piracy, it might be sensible for Fox to put up an official version on YouTube once it’s out in the open.
