Destiny‘s upcoming Age of Triumph event is going to be the last hurrah for the sci-fi shooter before focus shifts entirely to Destiny 2, and from everything we’ve seen so far, it looks like the occasion is going to be every bit the fitting send-off that Bungie is planning it to be. The second of three livestreams taking an in-depth look at each of Age of Triumph’s core elements is due to air later this week, with a teaser trailer released today providing a brief glimpse of what Guardians can expect to see discussed.
As per last week’s stream, which revealed that all existing raids – including the Vault of Glass and Crota’s End – would be getting a fresh lick of paint in order to bring them up to the relevant Year Three Light Level, Bungie community manager DeeJ confirmed that the next stream will detail the changes coming to Guardians’ weekly rituals, i.e. all of the activities that change every week upon server reset.
We already know that the fan favorite Nightfall Strike is going to be on the receiving end of some “subtle” changes, thanks to a recent interview between Bungie and Gamesradar, but what else is on the cards?
Well, the teaser, by its very nature, doesn’t give much away, but a phrase – Daybreak Strikes – does flash across the screen for a brief few seconds, followed by footage of the Hunter, Warlock and Titan classes indulging in some Hive slaughter with only their Solar-based classes. Of course, it’s not official until Bungie says so, but it looks like a new Strike modifier could well see Guardians restricted to using a particular loadout when tackling Strikes following the Age of Triumph patch.
There’s more or less it in regards to speculation right now, but check back with us on Wednesday, where we’ll have coverage of the full Destiny livestream. See you then.
