The release of Spider-Man: Homecoming is drawing near and more and more from the reboot continues to be revealed. This week, two brand new images have been released which feature Tom Holland’s Peter Parker both in and out of his costume as the wall-crawler.
The first photo sees the iconic superhero leaping into action on the ferry we’ve seen in the trailers, something we know will lead to Iron Man having to step in and save the day after it’s broken in half and the youngster finds himself overwhelmed by what looks to be a tricky situation for him. Speaking of Robert Downey Jr.’s mentor-like figure, the second image shows him talking to Peter with Jon Favreau’s Happy Hogan watching on in the background, following a few steps behind.
This seems to point to Spidey’s secret identity not being all that secret in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which is something that’s sure to upset fans of how he’s so protective of that in the comic books. Then again, this is easy to forgive considering the fact that Spider-Man: Homecoming is set in the beloved shared world that Marvel has built.
What the future holds in store for Spidey beyond Jon Watts’ reboot isn’t entirely clear right now, but a sequel is definitely on the way and we know that Peter will also be making his presence felt in Avengers: Infinity War. For now, there’s a lot to be excited about when it comes to the iconic hero, as Spider-Man: Homecoming looks set to finally offer some redemption after the underwhelming Amazing Spider-Man series.
