A new gameplay trailer for Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite has just arrived, bringing with it debut gameplay for the first handful of characters confirmed to be appearing in the crossover battle royale. Hulk, Hawkeye, Chris Redfield, Chun-Li and Thor, as well as all of the other iconic faces revealed with Capcom and Marvel’s fresh story trailer released earlier this week, steal the limelight for today’s showcase, and boy, is it a dazzling display.
Like its predecessor, Infinite not only appears to be mashing worlds together but aesthetics too, with each of its stages and combatants drenched from head to toe in color as they perform combo strings that look as stylish as they do painful. It won’t be until release later this year until we’ll be able to formulate a final opinion, but Infinite having discarded the three-member team composition in favor of a tag team structure already makes the flow of each battle appear markedly different.
It’s certainly no less hectic for it, however, what with each character’s finisher looking suitably OTT. Ultron’s in particular, who’s also primed to be Infinite‘s big bad along with Capcom’s Sigma, is a treat for the eyes. It’s not currently clear whether the A.I is the only individual that has access to Infinity finishers, but I’d be surprised if there aren’t others that can utilize the stones’ power.
Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite is out September 19 for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4, but you can bet your bottom dollar that Capcom will come out with a number of character reveals and new details before then, so stay tuned.
