The Defenders Will Unite The Entire Cast For One Scene

The Defenders is the culmination of everything that's been building up in this corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe since Daredevil season 1 arrived back in 2015. Despite only being eight episodes long, it has to be the most ambitious Marvel TV project yet made, as it brings together the main casts of the aforementioned solo outing for the Man Without Fear, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. It's definitely going to be a busy and crowded affair then and remarkably, it turns out that one scene in the show will actually manage to squeeze all of these characters into one room.

Despite only being eight episodes long, it has to be the most ambitious Marvel TV project yet made, as it brings together the main casts of the aforementioned solo outing for the Man Without Fear, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. Speaking at San Diego Comic-Con, Jessica Henwick – who plays Colleen Wing in Iron Fist – revealed that a scene towards the end of the season will apparently unite all of the major cast members:

“I’m excited just for fans to see characters interact that have never interacted before! I’m not even just talking about the four leads. I’m also talking about ensemble cast, which — most of them have been announced, I think. There’s a scene which has all of us — the whole cast in the same room — and that was crazy, and a lot of fun. So that’s what I’m excited for people to see, and it’s sort of towards the end of the show, I’d say.”

To remind you just how ambitious that is, apart from the four heroes, the cast will also include the likes of Rosario Dawson, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Hensen, Scott Glenn, Elodie Yung, Rachael Taylor, Eka Darville, Carrie-Ann Moss and Simone Missick. Oh, and let’s not forget that Jon Bernthal will also be dropping by as the Punisher.

Henwick was also asked if the Daughters of the Dragon would ever appear in the TV universe. For those who may not know, in the comics, Colleen Wing and Misty Knight (played by Simone Missick on screen) form a kung-fu-fighting private detective duo that fans would love to see brought to life on the small screen one day.

“I did just say there’s a scene which has all of us in the same room, so it is possible that Colleen and Misty may approach one another and start talking to each other. I know the fans want it. It was actually part of the reason why I loved Colleen when I started researching the role and I saw Daughters of the Dragon and what that was, it’s unlike anything that’s on TV. It’s unlike anything I’ve seen, as far as I know. Yes. I think fans will be happy.”

It looks like the fans that Henwick talks of will get their wish soon, as Missick is set to join Iron Fist season 2, which will likely explore the beginnings of Misty and Colleen’s partnership. In the meantime, we’re excited to see how their first sort of team-up comes about when The Defenders arrives on August 18th.
