New Photos From Fernando Meirelles’ 360

Fernando Meirelles' 360 is set to make its debut at TIFF next month and I honestly can't wait. Meirelles is the man behind two excellent films, City of God and The Constant Gardener. The director has assembled a star studded cast for his latest outing, with Rachel Weisz, Jude Law, Anthony Hopkins and Ben Foster leading the way.

Fernando Meirelles360 is set to make its debut at TIFF next month and I honestly can’t wait. Meirelles is the man behind two excellent films, City of God and The Constant Gardener. The director has assembled a star studded cast for his latest outing, with Rachel Weisz, Jude Law, Anthony Hopkins and Ben Foster leading the way.

The last film that we saw from the Brazilian director was Blindness, which was a bit of a letdown. This time though, he looks to return to form as he’s enlisted the help of writer Peter Morgan to pen the screenplay. The film consists of “several short scenes between couples, who are shown before or after a sexual liaison. After each scene, one character from the pairing is then shown with another partner, who is then shown with another partner, and so on, until the promiscuity comes full circle.”

It’s an interesting concept and in Meirelles’ hands, I think it could turn out really well. Despite the mediocrity of Blindness, I’m more than willing to give the director another chance as City of God is one of my favorite films of all time. The unique premise and the outstanding cast should be more than enough to ensure the success of 360, wouldn’t you say?
