Excited for Justice League? We sure hope you are, as we’re only a couple of days away from release now and we’re seeing a steady flow of information about what happens in the film. But why not set all that juicy plot stuff aside for a moment and check out this expansive collection of official images from the movie? Some of these appear to be stills from the film itself, while some are promotional shots and some are behind-the-scenes snaps. All together, though, they give us a decent idea of what to expect from Friday’s blockbuster.
Each member of the League (sans a certain Kryptonian) is featured here, along with multiple looks at the villainous Steppenwolf and some of the less promoted side characters. If nothing else, the collection shows the care and craft that’s gone into the movie, with the close-up looks at the costume and set design impressing with their complexity and atmosphere.
My favorites are the wide shot of Steppenwolf and his parademons, which give us one of our clearest views yet of Apokaliptian architecture, Alfred maintaining Batman’s gauntlets, a good look at a mother box and a detailed look at the biomechanical parademon armor.
The pictures appear to originate from Justice League: The Art of the Film, an impressive looking hardcover that promises to be “packed with stunning concept art, sketches, costume details, stills and behind-the-scenes shots from the set.” I’m a sucker for these glossy coffee-table making of books, and I think they really demonstrate the care and artistry that goes into everything you see on screen. That’s especially the case here, as the film takes us from Apokalips to Atlantis and back to Themyscira.
We’ll get to see all this stuff in action in just two days, when Justice League opens big. In the meantime, though, tell us, have you got any favorite shots from this humongous gallery? Let us know in the comments section down below.
