The Resistance is reporting for duty.
Off the back of The Last Jedi‘s recent press event in Los Angeles – a press event that heralded new intel on Han Solo, Leia, Luke and Supreme Leader Snoke – the Powers That Be over at Lucasfilm have today lifted the crimson curtain on a series of blood-red posters. Oh, and as if that wasn’t enough, there’s also a brand new international trailer (below) to peruse, which reaffirms that all-important Chinese release date: January 5th, 2018.
Truth be told, there’s not an awful lot in the way of new footage – hardly surprising, given Star Wars: The Last Jedi is less than two weeks out – but if nothing else, the above promo is just another excuse to marvel at Lucasfilm’s technical achievement. Seriously, that shot of the Millennium Falcon bursting out of Crait’s sun-scorched surface is a sight to behold.
Nevertheless, here’s that gallery of international posters, courtesy of Coming Soon:
Circling back to Lucasfilm’s press event, though, the studio brought together many of the film’s key players including Mark Hamill, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, Domhnall Gleeson, Gwendoline Christie, Laura Dern, Andy Serkis, and newcomer Kelly Marie Tran, who’s poised to be The Last Jedi‘s biggest new addition. Her name? Rose Tico, a mechanic who winds up joining Finn on a daring mission to Canto Bight – you know, as soon as Boyega’s hero is back on his feet.
And it all kicks off with The Last Jedi on December 15th – or December 14th, if you happen to be in the UK. The hype train doesn’t end there, though, as Disney and Lucasfilm are quietly preparing to launch Ron Howard’s anthology flick, Solo: A Star Wars Story, on May 25th. Perhaps a teaser trailer is imminent? We’ll find out very soon.
