It’s been a good couple of weeks for horror fans, hasn’t it? From The Slender Man to FredHeads, from Hellraiser: Judgment to The Strangers: Prey at Night, studios keep giving us new looks at some of the most anticipated upcoming horror flicks and that continues today with this brand new trailer for Adam Green’s Victor Crowley.
It’s going on 10 years since the director first launched his blood-drenched Hatchet series but still, the name of that aforementioned local legend is enough to send a chill down our spine. And now, after an extended hiatus, he’ll soon return (February 6th is the date for your diaries) when Green unleashes the demented, strangely deformed Victor Crowley upon Blu-ray, DVD and VOD just in time for Valentine’s Day.
To whet our appetite, Dark Sky has released a new trailer this week, which teases some of the brutality to come next month. Running a bit longer than the last one, the footage above presents an overview of the plot while also giving us some juicy glimpses of the serial murderer. It still holds back quite a bit, but there’s enough there to get us excited for the film and we’re sure you’ll feel the same.
For those who’d like to learn more about what awaits, the official synopsis is as follows:
Set a decade after the events of the series’ first three films, Victor Crowley reunites Hatchet mainstays Kane Hodder (Friday the 13th 7 – X’s Jason Voorhees) and Parry Shen (Better Luck Tomorrow) for an all-new, horrifying journey into the haunted, blood-drenched bayou.
In 2007, forty-nine people were brutally torn to pieces in Louisiana’s Honey Island Swamp. Over the past decade, lone survivor Andrew Yong’s claims that local legend Victor Crowley was responsible for the horrific massacre have been met with great controversy, but when a twist of fate puts him back at the scene of the tragedy, Crowley is mistakenly resurrected and Yong must face the bloodthirsty ghost from his past.
So, there you have it; Victor Crowley will officially slice and dice its way onto Blu-ray and the like on February 6th, with Amazon now taking pre-orders.
