The Walking Dead’s Chandler Riggs Once Auditioned For Spider-Man And Young Han Solo

Chatting to ComicBook.com, outgoing Walking Dead star Chandler Riggs confirmed that he once auditioned for Spider-Man and the young Han Solo.

Turns out Black Panther‘s Martin Freeman wasn’t the only one who fancied his chances of landing a Star Wars role.

Via ComicBook.com, outgoing Walking Dead star Chandler Riggs confirmed that he once auditioned for the part of young Han in Solo: A Star Wars Story, all the while tossing his name in the proverbial hat for Spider-Man.

Neither audition proved successful, as those vacant roles would ultimately go to Alden Ehrenreich and Tom Holland (Avengers: Infinity War), respectively. But make no mistake, the young Chandler Riggs is clearly looking to make inroads into Hollywood now that his time on The Walking Dead is coming to a close.

I auditioned for Spider-Man. I auditioned for Han Solo, all those big movies. I would love to do something like that. It would be awesome, especially now that I have a lot more free time, it would be really, really cool.

And, well, it looks like things are about to go nuclear, to quote The Walking Dead‘s executive producer, Scott M. Gimple:

It’s nuclear in how it affects the characters, how it affects the story, how it affects their world moving forward. The death of this character, this young hero…it creates the last sort of conversation of who these people are going to be and how they’re going to move into the future. It might be very tragic. It might be very hopeful. It might be somewhere in between. Not all the characters are going to respond the same way, and the tragedy itself makes it very difficult to hear Carl’s words and to act on them in a way that he wants.

Season 8 of The Walking Dead officially closes the book on Carl’s saga this Sunday, February 25th.
