One of the main features that’s been highly sought after by the Friday The 13th: The Game community has been the Single Player Challenges that were announced a few months back. Luckily, Gun Media finally lifted the curtain on the highly anticipated content in a brand new developer stream last night and if you missed it, you can check out the video below.
The live stream puts the spotlight on how the Single Player Challenges are shaping up and how they’ll work. Interestingly, decisions that you make in the newly added mode will impact and alter how each individual Challenge shakes out.
How will the moment-to-moment gameplay work, though? Well, the cinematic cutscenes occur when the iconic butcher reaches specific, triggered moments and there are multiple points like these scattered throughout each of the ten Challenge maps.
Within each of the maps are a set amount of story-based side objectives, too, – such as killing certain characters in specific ways – as well as a secret hidden objective. Additionally, Jason gains bonus XP for achieving things like remaining undetected while wiping out all of the pesky campers on the map.
Another detail that the game’s community brings up a lot is whether a fully fleshed out storyline will be a feature in the upcoming single-player content. Unfortunately, it won’t, as Gun Media has instead opted to focus on smaller-scale scenarios over a fully fleshed out campaign. That being said, it looks and sounds like each Challenge map is pretty replayable, with a variety of ways to tackle them.
After introducing new Legendary Perks and a new playable character recently, both Gun Media and IllFonic continue to work hard on keeping the Friday The 13th: The Game community engaged and satisfied, which is great to see, and as soon as more intel drops, we’ll be sure to let you know.
