Sylvester Stallone Shares New Rambo 5 Prep Video

Currently gearing up to shoot Rambo 5, Sylvester Stallone's taken to Instagram to share a video of his prep for the role.

Sylvester Stallone’s done a lot of memorable work over the years, but without a doubt, there are two roles that immediately spring to mind whenever his name is mentioned, those being Rocky Balboa and John Rambo. Having first played them at a younger age, Sly eventually reprised both characters decades later, further cementing their place in the annals of cinematic history.

The veteran actor/filmmaker isn’t finished with them, either, as he’s got Creed II coming in November and Rambo 5 was announced not long ago. From what we understand, the fifth entry into the beloved franchise will see the titular hero take on a Mexican drug cartel in an effort to find his friend’s kidnapped daughter. Presumably, it’ll also be a whole lot more exciting than the Taken films.

So, with production set to get underway this September, it comes as no surprise that Stallone’s now getting into shape. I mean, it’s not like you’d expect him to slack, but it stands to reason that he steps up his game in the gym whenever cameras are nearly ready to roll. Just check out the below video that he recently shared on his Instagram page and let us know if you’ve seen many other 72-year-old guys who are that jacked – or any age, for that matter.

Unfortunately, we don’t know too much about Rambo 5 just yet, but this is a franchise with a long history, with the first movie – a true action classic, might we add – spawning three more films, the most recent of which releasing in 2008 when Stallone once again took point as the title lead. As such, we’re hopeful that for what we presume will be the actor’s final outing as the beloved character, the producers have something special cooked up.

As mentioned above, filming on Rambo 5 (Last Blood?) is expected to kick off on September 1st, when Bulgaria and the Spanish Canary Islands will be playing host to Sylvester Stallone’s long-anticipated sequel. A release window is yet to be announced, but we’ll let you know once we learn more.
