X-wings, fall in!
Disney and Lucasfilm have peeled back the tarpaulin on a shiny new banner image for Star Wars Resistance, and this one is all about assembling the next generation of fighter pilots.
Front and center here is Kazuda “Kaz” Xiono (voiced by Days of Our Lives alum Christopher Sean), the Resistance’s latest recruit who hopes to spy on the First Order and impress his commanding officer, who just so happens to be Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac).
Remember, this newfangled animated series takes place before The Force Awakens, meaning Poe is yet to cross paths with Finn and Rey. It opens up a fascinating avenue for Resistance to explore, too, and we know from Rebels and The Clone Wars that Lucasfilm tends to strike lucky when dabbling with animated adventures set within the Star Wars universe.
Will Star Wars Resistance uphold that trend? Who knows, but below you’ll see Kaz and Co. blazing a path of their own, proving that, when you’ve got a maverick like Poe Dameron in your corner, sometimes a little improv can go a long way.
And let’s not forget about BB-8, the cute spherical droid who has fast become one of the most talked-about characters in the entire Star Wars franchise.
In the voice booth for this one are Suzie McGrath, Scott Lawrence (Legion), Myrna Velasco, Josh Brener (Silicon Valley), Donald Faison, Bobby Moynihan, Jim Rash (Community), and Rachel Butera.
Star Wars Resistance shoots for the skies on October 7th at precisely 10 pm ET/PT, when the Mouse House will get things rolling with an hour-long premiere entitled “The Recruit,” which follows Kazuda as he journeys behind enemy lines.
