Jessica Chastain may have already wrapped principal photography on Andy Muschietti’s IT: Chapter Two, but Pennywise the Dancing Clown (Bill Skarsgård) is clearly still hard at work. Although it’ll be some time before the titular jester is shimmying and shaking again on the big screen, earlier this week, Just Jared caught the demonic entity shooting a scene for the highly anticipated sequel.
Seen in the Tweet below, the outlet’s captured a few shots of the iconic villain filming something in a muddy swamp area. You can head on over to JJ to see more, but unfortunately, the context of the scene is unknown. Presumably, though, the Dancing Clown is up to no good, and likely getting ready to terrorize some young children again – or something of the sort.

Set to creep into theaters on September 6th, 2019, the much anticipated sequel has big things in store for Pennywise the Dancing Clown after the first film turned him into a bonafide pop culture icon. Speaking in an interview a while back, Skarsgård explained that when he returned to the role for Chapter Two, he found that the character was already there, hiding within him and just waiting to come out again.
We had the read-through and I’ve done some rehearsals, and I was surprised how much of the character was just there already. I instantly could access him again, like it was yesterday that we wrapped the first one. It was just all there. So, the work and preparation and figuring out the character is almost intuitive, which is pretty cool. It’s a very strange thing, but I’m trying to enjoy the ride, as much as I can.
The actor then talked about what it was like to welcome Jessica Chastain (Beverly Marsh), James McAvoy (Bill Denbrough) and Bill Hader (Richie Tozier) to Derry, Maine 27 years after the fact.
But off camera, I get to hang out with the entire adult cast now. It’s weird and it’s surreal because some of them are really big stars and they’re coming in to your thing. They’re stepping into the thing that me and Andy and the kids did. They’re joining the band, in a way. They’re excited, and I just had a lot of fun hanging out with all of them. It’s going to be a very different shooting experience with all adults, for sure, but it will be fun. They’re all really cool and talented people, so I think they will bring a lot to the table.
It: Chapter Two will be summoned into theaters on September 6th and it’ll apparently deliver a heartbreaking finale to the Pennywise saga.
