As if everything that happened wasn’t enough to thrill DC fans, this week’s “Elseworlds” crossover ended on an epic announcement: fall 2019 will see the Arrowverse adapting the seminal comic book event Crisis on Infinite Earths!
“Elseworlds” itself did a great job of laying the groundwork for “Crisis,” introducing The Monitor, Psycho-Pirate and other key players in the saga. There were even several references to the fact that a bigger crisis is coming. However, we weren’t expecting that title card to appear at the end and tell us the name of 2019’s crossover, something that we’ve never learned so early before.
Now, the stage is set for the TV crossover to top all TV crossovers next year and understandably, fans are losing their minds over the shock reveal.

Others are psyched to finally see the fruition of something that these shows have been working towards for years. In the pilot episode of The Flash – also seen prominently many times since – the Reverse-Flash’s newspaper from the future revealed that a “crisis” was due to happen in 2024. For us in the real world, it looks like it’s happening next year.

Alternatively, as exciting as the announcement is, some fans are already preparing for the heartbreak and the tragedy that’s bound to occur. After all, some key moments from the comic book arc involve the death of both the Flash and Supergirl.

On a brighter note, others have already started drawing up lists of who they want to see crossover with the Arrowverse in Crisis. Ranging from completely reasonable requests…
Man @blacklightning at least has to make a cameo for the next crossover #CrisisOnInfiniteEarths
— The Extraordinary Underachiever (@LegendDaddyBean) December 12, 2018
… To the slightly more ambitious but still doable…
Okay, but imagine if #CrisisOnInfiniteEarths brings back Tom Welling to play an older Superman from another Earth and we FINALLY get to see him in the red and blue…#Smallville

… And the downright mind-blowing that would be so cool if they ever happened but they totally won’t.
@TheCW @WarnerBrosEnt @DCComics *Please* include @TheDCEU, Burton/Schumacher & Nolan Bat-verses, Reeve/Donnerverse, Lynda Carter WW, Batman '66 and #Smallville…OR WE RIOT. #Elseworlds #CrisisOnInfiniteEarths #DCComics
