Ant-Man and the Wasp was mostly a standalone entry in the MCU. Until its post-credits scenes, that is.
In the first sequence, Scott Lang ended up trapped in the Quantum Realm when Hank Pym and Hope and Janet Van Dyne were turned to dust during an experiment, revealing that these events were happening during the final reel of Avengers: Infinity War. The second was more light-hearted but still pretty eerie, as it took place in Scott’s abandoned house, with a test card on the TV showing that the world had gone to pot after the Decimation.
Now, the sequel’s director, Peyton Reed, seems to be teasing more about this sequence with his latest Twitter post. The filmmaker shared a GIF of a set of multi-colored bars on a screen, much like the test card seen in the AMATW stinger. He didn’t put a caption on the strange image, so we’re left to theorize about what the meaning behind this post is, but fans have already come up with some interesting speculation.

Presumably, this has something to do with Avengers: Endgame. The first trailer for the highly anticipated movie event, released earlier this month, revealed that Ant-Man won’t be trapped in the Quantum Realm for too long as he was seen driving up to the front gates of the Avengers facility, much to the surprise of Captain America and Black Widow.
This left fans scratching their heads as to how Lang managed to escape the microverse that the original Wasp was marooned in for 30 years. Perhaps Reed’s tweet is promising that the second post-credits scene from his movie could be of more importance than we thought? Alternatively, maybe he’s just reminding fans of a memorable scene from Ant-Man and the Wasp without any ulterior motive?
At this point, we really don’t know, but feel free to leave your own speculation down below.
