The extended home release edition of the 2016 film remains a key reason why a lot of fans are still clamoring for the fabled ‘Snyder cut’ of the subsequent Justice League, with the Ultimate Edition earning a significantly warmer reception from viewers than the critically panned, heavily trimmed version that made it to theaters. But regardless of how you feel about either cut, it must be said that this is a pretty nice design, suggesting the mythic grandeur that the DCEU’s Snyder years often aimed for, though didn’t always reach.

As it stands, these three heroes all look to have very different futures under Warner Bros., though it’s hard to say what’s going on these days with the character of Clark Kent. After hearing multiple reports that Henry Cavill was stepping down from the role of Superman, Aquaman star Jason Momoa insisted last month that this was “absolutely not” the case, though it’s unclear where Superman could make his return in the DCEU’s current schedule.

As for Bruce Wayne, it seems that Ben Affleck’s run in the role may already be over, but we expect to see a younger actor playing the Caped Crusader in Matt Reeves’ The Batman. For actress Gal Gadot, however, things look to be going pretty swimmingly as Diana, with Wonder Woman 1984 set for release on June 5th, 2020. From the sound of things, Bruce and Diana’s next stories should take them far away from the events of their DCEU debuts in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, but it’s clear that a lot of fans still hold a place in their heart for this divisive picture.
