Though these last few months have seen a ceaseless stream of rumors and reports alleging that a Star Wars: Episode IX teaser or title reveal is imminent, Lucasfilm has continued to hold off on such grand unveilings. That being said, with filming on the upcoming trilogy-closer wrapping last Friday, several official Star Wars Twitter accounts have offered what could finally be a genuine tease that something big is just around the corner.
Within a few hours of each other, Star Wars UK and the equivalent accounts for France and the Netherlands have made the same tweet that speaks of “the calm before the galactic storm.” The accompanying video, meanwhile, also hints at impending news with its single statement, “This is where the fun begins.”

Fans anticipating material from the final installment of the Sequel Trilogy are no strangers to false alarms. Just earlier this month, for instance, C-3PO actor Anthony Daniels got the internet all excited when he posted a cryptic message to Twitter teasing “something amazing coming towards us,” only to later clarify that he wasn’t talking about an Episode IX trailer or title. But when multiple official Star Wars accounts share a post like the one you see above, it’s hard not to get your hopes up that Lucasfilm has a plan to actually follow through on their tease in a big way.
Seeing how the official title of The Last Jedi was revealed in January of the year of its release, you could certainly argue that Star Wars: Episode IX is overdue for the same unveiling. To go one further, an unconfirmed report from a couple of days ago alleged that the movie’s first teaser is already in the hands of various UK cinemas. But regardless of what the coming days bring, we still have a good few months ahead of us before the film hits theaters on December 20th, 2019.
