Lucasfilm Planning Qi’Ra And Lando TV Shows For Disney Plus

Solo: A Star Wars Story wasn't the hit Lucasfilm was hoping it would be when it arrived last May, leaving it unlikely that we'll get any sequels starring Alden Ehrenreich as the young nerf-herder. However, if our sources are correct, then the studio isn't giving up on this corner of the galaxy for good, as two of the supporting characters in the movie could be getting their own shows on Disney Plus.

However, if our sources are correct, then the studio isn’t giving up on this corner of the galaxy for good, as two of the supporting characters in the movie could be getting their own shows on Disney Plus.

We Got This Covered has heard that Lucasfilm is planning on making TV series for both Qi’Ra and Lando Calrissian, which will air exclusively on the Mouse House’s upcoming streaming service. As with our report that Finn and Poe will both be getting their own shows as well, these two projects are only in the earliest stages and we’ve got no intel on plot details, casting or anything else at this stage.

Those familiar with the franchise will know that Emilia Clarke’s con-woman was introduced in Solo as the childhood friend and first love of Han. At the end of the prequel, she was revealed to have been in the employ of Darth Maul the whole time. It was clearly intended for her story to be explored in a sequel then, but maybe Lucasfilm’s going to show us what happens next in a TV series instead.

Will we get the Game of Thrones star back on board, though? Well, the actress is highly in-demand right now, so we’ll have to see. The same goes for Donald Glover, who portrayed the younger Lando in Solo, following on from Billy Dee Williams’ iconic turn in the Original Trilogy.

Perhaps traveling even further back in Lando’s life could be the way to go for his TV series, though. After all, Solo introduced him when he was still a famous name in the galaxy, so there’s plenty more in his past to explore. This would also allow for another recast of the character, meaning they wouldn’t necessarily need Glover back.
