We’re still over nine months away from the release of Star Wars: Episode IX, and so far, official details on the film are in short supply, but for what it’s worth, Oscar Isaac seems very happy with the movie he’s helped make.

Speaking to Associated Press, the Poe Dameron actor recalled having a fun time on set, before observing that J.J. Abrams’ upcoming film is bringing not just the Sequel Trilogy to a close but the entire Skywalker Saga.

“It was the most fun it’s been. There was just an energy and a looseness and excitement to the whole production. And knowing that this was the conclusion of not only our time there but the nine stories, these nine episodes of the Skywalker Saga, it’s incredible. And I think people are gonna be just blown away.”

This isn’t the first time that Isaac has recalled a certain “looseness” on the set of Episode IX, with the actor recalling in an interview last year that there’s more of a willingness try new things this time round than there was for the trilogy’s first two installments.

Of course, neither Isaac nor his co-stars have been especially generous with the details of what’s actually happening on set, though the actor did offer an interesting tease back in August that the film will feature scenes of guerrilla warfare. Perhaps we can even connect this claim to the set photos that emerged last year which showed Poe, Finn, Chewbacca and various other characters riding through a rural landscape.

In any case, though Lucasfilm has been even stingier than expected when it comes to info and material from Star Wars: Episode IX, the first trailer and the official title should hopefully be with us at least as soon as Star Wars Celebration next month. Either way, we still have a fair wait ahead of us before the film hits theaters on December 20th, 2019.
