While booking tickets for Avengers: Endgame is proving to be a struggle for many fans, it seems that a phenomenal number of people have still managed to complete their transaction already.
Atom Tickets has just shared the news that the upcoming Marvel epic has managed to set a record for first-hour pre-sales. As reported by Deadline, the film sold three times more tickets on Atom in its first hour than Avengers: Infinity War managed over the same period last year. Meanwhile, Fandango is also reporting strong sales for this month’s release.
Evidently, a lot of people have managed to save their seats, despite Fandango and other websites crashing due to the high levels of traffic. And needless to say, this all bodes very well for the box office performance of Endgame, which seems destined to break a few more records when it comes out later this month.
Earlier this year, Researcher Exhibitor Relations projected a $282 million opening for the movie domestically. This would comfortably beat the previous record held by Infinity War of $257,698,183. On a global level, meanwhile, a report from last week put Endgame’s opening weekend haul at $840 million. And given the film’s early success in pre-sales, you can expect future forecasts to be similarly high.
In the meantime, we’re currently in the midst of a very busy period for Avengers: Endgame promotion. Just this morning, for instance, we’ve seen the release of a new trailer, as well as numerous posters. Last week also brought us a whole load of promo art, as well as a couple of featurettes. You can expect to see plenty more material emerge in the coming weeks, too, before the film finally hits theaters on April 26th.
