In recognition of this glowing response, a new TV spot delivers a barrage of critic quotes over a montage of familiar footage. Particular emphasis is placed on Matt Goldberg’s Collider review, which describes the Avengers: Infinity War sequel as an “Epic Like You’ve Never Seen Before.”

While North American filmgoers will have to wait until tonight to see if they agree with the critics, Anthony and Joe Russo’s latest work has already been going down a storm overseas, and the box office figures very much reflect this. On its first day alone, Endgame grossed a global total of $169 million, beating the single-day records in China, Taiwan, Thailand and Australia. By the end of its second day in China, it’s estimated that the movie had taken in a cumulative total upwards of $153 million, and is currently on course to be the region’s highest grossing US film.

On the domestic front, the flick is primed for the widest release of all-time, showing on a record-breaking 4,600 screens in the US and Canada in its first three days. Recent projections have the feature beating the $257 million opening weekend record set by Infinity War, with some analysts predicting that the film’s debut might get as high as $300 million.

So, it’s well established by now that Avengers: Endgame is going to be very big indeed, but you can judge for yourself if the film is worth all these gargantuan figures when it arrives in theaters on April 26th.
