Yahoo has released the first poster for Studio Ghibli’s The Secret World of Arrietty, based on The Borrowers, which will hit U.S. theaters in February. The film was directed by first-timer Hiromasa Yonebayashi and written by the legendary Hayao Miyazaki.
Needless to say, Studio Ghibli and Miyazaki are behind such classics as My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away, and Howl’s Moving Castle. The Secret World of Arrietty was already released in Japan, gathering positive reviews, with a 100% currently on Rotten Tomatoes.
The poster itself seems to capture the Studio Ghibli-like whimsy, without being moderately terrifying, which a lot of Miyazaki films are. It immediately draws your attention and describes the film’s plot with a single image.
