Kane Hodder Reveals What He Wants To See In The Next Friday The 13th Movie

Finding someone who knows more about the Friday the 13th movies than Kane Hodder would be an extremely difficult, if not impossible, task. The actor has played Jason Voorhees in four separate film installments, as well as a video game based on the series. That's easily more than any other performer and puts him in a class with Nick Castle and Robert Englund. His advanced knowledge of the franchise makes him more qualified than anybody to chime in with his opinions about what the next installment should entail. His advanced knowledge of the franchise makes him more qualified than anybody to chime in with his opinions about what the next installment should entail and in a recent interview, the 64-year-old did just that, saying the following:

“I just think that when they do do a 13th one, it certainly couldn’t hurt to bring me back as Jason, unless it’s in 20 years, maybe. But it certainly couldn’t hurt the success of the movie, I don’t think, having the only person that’s played the role more than once to come back for the final one.

I think that part would be interesting, but I’d like to see, if, in fact, they say this is the final one, I’d like to see some of the characters that survived come back, like Corey Feldman’s character (Tommy Jarvis), and somehow written into the story why they’re back. It could be an interesting storyline, having people that survived Jason come back. ‘Oh, I remember that girl’ or, ‘I remember that guy from previous movies and they never got killed.’ I think it could be an interesting storyline.”

This has the potential to be an awesome idea. Over the years, plenty of the performers who portrayed Jason’s victims have gone on to become huge stars. Kevin Bacon, Crispin Glover, Tony Goldwyn, Kelly Hu, Danielle Panabaker, Jared Paladecki, Kelly Rowland and Corey Feldman could all conceivably return in some way, shape or form.

They could play different characters than the ones who met their unfortunates demise in the earlier movies or somehow play undead versions of themselves. Given that the series has already bent the rules of reality several times, it isn’t out of the realm of possibility to bring these deceased individuals back to try to exact revenge on their killer.

The studio certainly has plenty of time to iron out all the details, as the Friday the 13th franchise is currently in the midst of a messy legal battle. Future installments starring Jason Voorhees are all stuck on the shelf until the courtroom drama gets sorted out. In the meantime, though, Hodder can write a script of his own or help revise Tom McLoughlin’s new one. By the time everything is resolved, the final product from these two horror masterminds should be perfect.
