The streets of Gotham City will be safe from maniacal impostors for another month, it seems. Gotham City Impostors, the competitive online shooter from Monolith Productions, has been delayed into February. It was originally scheduled to launch on XBLA, PSN and PC, during the week of January 10.
Gotham City Impostors features two teams going at it for supremacy, on the streets of Bruce Wayne’s hometown. Instead of playing as actual heroes and villains, players will get to choose from one of two teams, both of which happen to be made up of impostors.
You can choose to play as those wearing homemade Batman costumes, or pick from a host of villainous hopefuls, who have taken to dressing like the Joker. Surprisingly enough, the downloadable title is a first-person shooter, instead of a beat ’em up of some sort. One that looks very interesting.
We’ll let you know when we hear more. For now, you can check out the latest press release from Warner Bros. It confirms the date change, but doesn’t mention a reason for the delay. Perhaps they decided to make a couple of changes after its recent beta test concluded.
